I first have to cut wood into the correct sized pieces. It's important to select 13 pieces that will ultimately result in the look I want.
After the pieces are carved, it's time to burn the wood. The messy part is then brushing off the charred burn.
Make the flag, disassemble the flag, reassemble the flag, finish the flag.
I carefully carve each and every star, then carefully stain each and every star. Many flags on the market have stars that are simply glued on, stenciled, printed, or carved with a computerized machine. Sure, that would be easy. But, I cut no corners on my handcrafted individualized flags. Besides, I get to listen to a lot of music during this step.
The end result is a flag that has been carefully and meticulously hand crafted. I put a lot of pride in every detail in making these flags. I believe the American Flag deserves nothing but my best effort.
